The Judy Fuemmeler Memorial Scholarship
Judy Fuemmeler believed in servant minded volunteerism to better her community.
Judy had a passion for helping individuals from all walks of life and every circumstance; believing children, especially, should have access to the supports and provisions necessary for success!
Through her job as the school librarian at Doniphan West Elementary, Judy encouraged and poured into her students and their families. She was also active in missions work, serving meals at the local shelter, teaching Sunday school, participating in fundraising efforts and found joy in volunteering her time to worthwhile endeavors and loving others well.
When Kadens Kloset launched in Judy’s home church and community, she immediately stepped into a leadership role and was a valued member of the Kadens Kloset Team. Judy loved volunteering her time and talents to ensure that all children had access to clothing, toiletries, necessities, school supplies and Christmas gifts. It was important to Judy that under-resourced children feel dignified and equal to their peers.
On October 20th, 2022, after a short battle with an aggressive cancer, Judy left this earth to her eternal home with Jesus.
We know that Judy had a desire to make an everlasting impact not only for her husband, family and community; but to leave a lasting footprint and encouragement for students and children.
It is our hope that we honor Judy and keep her memory alive in a way that would have been meaningful and special to our team member and friend. We are proud to launch The Judy Fuemmeler Memorial Scholarship and share Judys love and passion for helping others and making the world a better place.
A note from Judy's husband, Nick Fuemmeler:
"I am so honored that Kaden’s Kloset is awarding this scholarship in Judy’s memory. For those that didn’t really know Judy, know that you missed out on one of the best that this world had to offer. Her desire to be an encouragement to those around her, to serve her family, her friends, and those less fortunate will be rivaled by few. She was well known for her random, encouraging texts to her friends & family. Our 16 year marriage was filled with happiness because of her heart to love and serve. She was heavily involved in our church and enjoyed serving both in the church and beyond its walls. Whether it was preparing communion, helping to teach our Sunday School Class, fundraising for mission trips, serving meals at the local homeless shelter, or helping to make Kaden’s Kloset’s Winter Wonderland a success, Judy thrived in that role. She lived and loved to serve the Lord Jesus by serving others. As her cancer treatments progressed and her energy levels declined she told me that not being able to do those things is what made it harder than anything. Still, in her hardest moments she continued to shine the light of Jesus and bring encouragement to those around her in any way that she could. She was truly a blessing to all who knew her. And through these scholarships, her spirit continues to be a blessing to her community and to the other communities with ties to Kaden’s Kloset."
