Mission.Through Kadens Kloset, we physically and tangibly meet the needs of children and families within our community and beyond.
|
Vision.Kadens Kloset supplies material items and necessities for families, sustains ongoing services for foster and adoptive families and equips people to engage in caring for children and families in need.
|
How do we do it?
Kadens Kloset is completely donation and volunteer run. When a church, business or organization commits to hosting a Kadens Kloset, we solicit donations from community members, the congregation, other non-profits and area businesses of new and gently used items to fill our community closet. Examples of these donations include monetary and financial contributions, baby items, children’s clothing of all sizes, shoes and outerwear, bedding, toiletry or hygiene items and luggage.
Foster and adoptive families, children in care, teens, expectant mothers and local families in need are then invited to “shop” the closet, FREE of charge.

Kadens Story
Going through 7 homes in the foster care system before being adopted at age 16, Kadens Kloset Co-Founder Kristle Davis knew her passion was in Foster Care and Child Abuse and Neglect Awareness.
After becoming foster parents, the Davis family agreed to ONLY foster older sibling set placements. A while into their mission of caring for children in need within their community, a call came for a 9 month old baby. With little hesitation, they said YES, but there was one small problem...they had prepared their home for older children, not an infant!
“After some time and energy, we were able to procure everything we needed for our new little one, but the reality is most foster parents aren't so lucky! I remember entering care myself with only the clothes on my back. This is not uncommon on that tragic first day of foster care. I had to hope and rely on others to help supply me with all of the things I would need for my new life as a foster child. We know of countless other stories of our friends who do foster care or have adopted who would share about children showing up in the middle of winter with nothing but a dirty diaper and a t-shirt. We knew there needed to be better resources for our children and for the families caring for them."
After some preparing and planning, Kadens Kloset began to take shape and we launched our first location in Holland, Iowa on March 1st of 2016. By October of the same year, we had 8 operating Kadens Klosets all across the state, with more slated to launch into the New Year. During this time, the little one that started it all, Kaden, was adopted by the Davises and is loved immensely by a new 'Forever Family'!
We know that there are so many needs for so many children in our community and beyond. Kadens Story is simply one representation of so many stories of children in need, children in care, and the families that are actively trying to meet their needs.
Kadens Kloset is a free resource that can greatly assist these children and families through community partnerships between our donors, volunteers and our shoppers. Each Kadens Kloset is staffed and run by caring individuals who have a servant heart and passion for community betterment and supporting those in need.
Kadens Story is not over yet! We are still growing and launching more Kadens Klosets across other States and Communities Nationwide! For more information on how you can be a partner of Kadens Kloset, CONTACT US!
